Great boots highly recommended

Bought a pair that was 11 1/2 D, and I couldn’t even get my foot all the way in the boot. Sent it back in exchange for a size 12 EE, and the fit was great and really comfortable. The exchange was easy, and the hardest part was waiting for the new pair. The look and quality of the boots are amazing. Very happy that I pulled the trigger on these.

Tough but stylish.

Built like a brick shithouse. A little more snug than my brushed brown no.2s, but will break in nicely. Well made boots that will last a lifetime. Can’t wait for the whiskey restocks!

Absolutely love my boots.

Went to the store in Austin and it was an awesome..

Juan was fantastic going through all the different options. I ended up with the 7’s as the best fit for me.

Impeccable quality. Weird fitting (for me).

Beautiful, elegant boots- proudly made by my fellow Mexicans. However..

I never experienced fitting discrepancy from one foot to the other before trying these boots. With the Chisos No. 1 , my left is a bit loose and the right one is too tight. I managed to stretch the right toe box with a shoe stretcher and barely got away with it. I should have chosen half a size bigger- but then the left one would have been even looser, requiring extra insole volume.

Best boot you'll ever buy!

If someone knows of a better pair of Ostrich boot I want to know where they are. Incredible quality and fit are the first thing you become away of. As soon as you put your feet into these boots you know you made the right choice. I own 30 pair of boots, 8 pair are Ostrich. My Chisos are now my go to Ostrich for casual and dress occasions. I would wear them everyday but I'm too picky about care of my boots. With that said. I still wear them often and they took about 3 days to break in. Once the fit adjusted to my feet, they became the most comfortable boots I own. Now I'm going to by a pair of No.1 and No.5

I pulled into a cozy parking lot, walked to the front of the store and felt at home as soon I entered the establishment. It was very close to closing time a quarter to five pm (4:45 pm I was stuck in traffic longer than expected) I was the only guest in the store & was greeted shortly after I walked in by Juan who offered me a cold beverage. I declined as I did not want to waste more of his time because it was so close to closing time. I had done a lot of research on the types of boot styles Chisos offers and made a decision on wanting the Chisos #1 in brown, I also wanted to try on the Chisos #2 for a comparison of comfortability. Juan has a lot of patience. Not only did he give me a detailed explanation of the difference between the two boots, how each color will fit differently between black and brown because of the curing process. He also walked me though each fit, told me what to expect with the “break in” process, Juan also let me try on one black boot and one brown boot at the same time so I can make the best decision for my feet. I need you to stay with me, the next part is a bit much. I also mixed and matched, one brown #1 boot on the left foot, one #1 black boot on the right foot. Then I switched. Next I tried one brown #2 and one black #2, next I tried one #1 on the left and one #2 on the right. Throughout the entire process, Juan was right there telling me how things should feel. I wanted to go with the black #1’s but my right foot didn’t feel comfortable. After that process, I ended up going with the dark brown Chisos # 2. At first I was skeptical about their “sneaker like comfort” but these are the most comfortable boots I have ever put on my feet. I can’t claim this will be the case for everyone, just my personal experience. I would like to publicly thank Juan for his knowledge, experience, and walking me through the process also staying 40 minutes after closing time. I tried to make my decision as quickly as possible. Thanks again!

Best belt on the market!

The craftsmanship and quality of the belt is second to none! This is an absolute staple for anyone to dress casually, for a special occasion, or most importantly to match a pair of Chisos boots (I personally own the No. 2s and they are fantastic!). Cannot wait to get this same belt in roughout with matching boots in the future! Long live Chisos!!!

Winners!

I got the chisos 6 in rough out. A long time Lucchese customer, i've been following reading about the company and figured I would give them a try. They are incredibly comfortable out of the box and easy to break in, not that they need it very much. Would definitely buy another pair.

Bitten By The Boot Bug

I've recently been bitten by the cowboy boot bug. I already had a good pair of basic light brown boots from another brand that suited me well, even though I didn't wear them often. That changed when I learned about Chisos and found out their HQ is right here in Austin, where I live.

I went on a bit of a run: first a pair of amazing python boots, then a very fancy pair of ostrich quill. Finally, I bought my Chisos No. 2s. Simply put, I like the Chisos best of the three. I'm not normally a square toe guy, but the subtle square on the No. 2 is perfect. Something about the look, shape, and design really sets it apart from the other boots I'd just bought.

The boots arrived quickly in a sturdy box, and what's inside is what sets Chisos apart. Each boot came in a high-quality fabric bag, along with a classy touch: a handwritten note from an employee thanking me for the purchase and telling me to enjoy them. That personal touch was incredible.

When I took them out, they filled my house with the smell of rich leather. The leather is sublime — supple and soft — and the color is beautiful.

Now the fit. I wear a 9.5 in all my sneakers, work boots, and other cowboy boots, and I'd call these true to size, if a touch snug. The length is right; the top of the foot and the midfoot are a little tight, but I know they'll break in and the leather will stretch. These feel like the highest quality boots I've ever put on.

My only con is the break-in. I haven't worn them every day over the last few weeks, and that leather is strong, so I've been wearing them around the house to speed things up. They also squeak a bit when I walk. I wasn't sure if that was part of the process, but when I reached out, Chisos told me it goes away as the leather settles.

I also picked up a belt in the same color to match. I wear a 32 in jeans and bought the 34 belt — it fits perfectly, and the holes are set closer together so you can really dial in the fit. Same excellent leather as the boots.

Last was a bootjack, which is a gamechanger if you don't like pulling your boots off the old fashioned way. They slide right off.

I absolutely love these boots. You can tell how much thought and care went into them, and between the quality and the customer service, I'd happily own several more pairs.

COMFORT & CRAFTMANSHIP

It took 3 tries to get just the right size. Gannon was super helpful and determined to get it right (talk about awesome customer service). I'm 63 years old and have to be kinda careful what I put on my feet and boy let me tell you these #6 Roughouts are unbelievably comfortable and the craftmanship is second to none. We're talking put on in the morning and wear all day. I tried to fix my 3 pairs of Luccheses with padded insoles and thicker vibram outsoles but nothing really helped. Stop messing with little comfort fixes and get you a pair of Chisos and they will be the only boot you'll ever want to wear guaranteed.

Damn Good Introduction to Western Boots

So I’ve been working in the boot industry off and on since high school, and worn boots my entire adult life via work and casual wear. However, never western boots as I’ve mostly lived in the Rocky’s and in the PNW, so worn logger style boots, combat boots in the military, and lace up casual boots like Red Wings. Chisos is my first western pair of boots, and I’ve gotta say, they’ve hooked me.

My general assumption of the current western boot industry was based off of what I’d seen with Justin, Tony Lama’s, Lucchese’s etc. charging absurd amounts for fast fashion boots made with crumby synthetic materials which can’t be rebuilt, reconditioned, or re-lasted well. The idea of a riding boot but with all the build quality corporate profit maximization could offer. Not so with Chisos.

These Chisos are built well, plenty of high-quality dairy cow leather which makes them supple but still durable. The hand-dyed leather on my No. 2s has tremendous character, they were day 1 comfortable and have only gotten better after the in-step has conformed to my foot over time. I’ll likely get a second pair soon because I want to beat the ones I have up and keep a pair nice for nights out.

Additionally, I bought mine in-person in their Austin, TX location, and would highly recommend this to any who are willing and able. The staff was knowledgeable, kind, and professional. The location was clean and very nice.

Thanks Chisos.
